This policy describes the information we process to support Endolit

What kinds of information do we collect?

Things you and others do and provide.

  • Information and content you provide. We collect the content, communications and other information you provide when you use Endolit, including when you sign up for an account, create or share content, and message or communicate with others. This can include information in or about the content you provide, such as the location of a photo or the date a file was created. It can also include what you see through features we provide, such as connection suggestion, so we can suggest colleagues that you might know, or give you tips on using some of our products.

  • Data with special protections: You can choose to provide information in your Endolit profile about your job, education or location. You can control to view your case scores or make it hidden. You can also control whether you would like to allow evaluation for your posted cases or not. Any cases posted on the main forum are accessible to all users. You, however, can choose to post cases privately in a closed group.

  • Networks and connections. We collect information about the members and groups you are connected to optimize the functionality and your experience on Endolit.

  • Your usage. We collect information about how you use our Products, such as the types of content you view or engage with; the features you use; the people or accounts you interact with; and the time, frequency and duration of your activities.

  • Information about transactions made on our Products. If you use our Products for purchases or other financial transactions (such as when you make a purchase for the “advanced lecture series”), we collect information about the purchase or transaction but we do not retain any of your payment information, such as your credit or debit card number and other card information; and billing, shipping and contact details.

  • Things others do and information they provide about you. We do not receive and analyze content, communications and information that other people provide when they use our Products. This can include information about you, such as when others share or comment on a photo of you, send a message to you, or upload, sync or import your contact information.

  • Location Information. We may determine the approximate location of your device from your IP address. We collect and use this information to, for example, propose endodontic courses or events near you. Also to learn how many people use our services from certain geographic regions in order to improve the quality of our services. You can choose whether you can allow us to do so through your mobile device operating system’s permissions.

Device Information

As described below, we collect information from and about the computers, phones, and other web-connected devices you use that integrate with Endolit, and we combine this information across different devices you use. For example, we use information collected about your use of our Products on your phone to better personalize the content or features you see when you use our Products on another device, such as your laptop or tablet.

Information we obtain from these devices includes:

  • Device attributes: information such as the operating system, hardware and software versions.

  • Identifiers: unique identifiers, device IDs, and other identifiers, or accounts you use).

  • Data from device settings: information you allow us to receive through device settings you turn on, such as access to your GPS location, camera or photos.

  • Network and connections: information such as the name of your mobile operator or ISP, language, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address, connection speed.

How do we use this information?

We use the information we have to personalize and improve our Products. We use the information we have to deliver our Products, including to personalize features and content and make suggestions for you (such as groups or event you may be interested in).

How is this information shared?

  • Product research and development: We use the information we have to develop, test and improve our Products, including by conducting surveys and research, and testing and troubleshooting new products and features.

  • Promote safety, integrity and security.

    We use the information we have to verify accounts and activity, combat harmful conduct, detect and prevent spam and other bad experiences, maintain the integrity of our Products, and promote safety and security.

    We take reasonable steps to secure your personally identifiable information against unauthorized access or disclosure. However, no security or encryption method can be guaranteed to protect information from hackers or human error.

  • Research and innovate in Endodontic.

    We use the information we have to conduct and support endodontic research For example, we recently conducted a survey on the use of Bioceramic Root canal sealers worldwide. Similar initiatives can be conducted and can be eventually published in a dental journal. None of your personal information will be shared publicly when such surveys are conducted.

    • Your information is shared with others in the following ways:

    • Sharing cases on Endolit forum

    • Shared cases will be automatically shared to the Endolit pages and Endolit account on Facebook and Twitter or other social media platforms. You can control whether you would allow sharing your posts on social media from the “Endolit settings”.

    • When you share and communicate using Endolit, you choose the audience for what you share. For example, when you post on the Endolit main forum, you select the audience for the post to be all Endolit members. Similarly, when you share cases in a “Group”, the cases will only be visible to members of this group. Only you and the “Group director” have the authority to share your case from the group to the main forum. If you choose to use “Endolit messages” to communicate with Endolit members those members can see the content you send. Endolit members can also see actions you have taken on the main forum, including engagement with posts shared.

  • New owner

    If the ownership or control of all or part of Endolit or their assets changes, we may transfer your information to the new owner.

How can I manage or delete information about me?

We provide you with the ability to access, rectify, port and erase your data.

We store data until it is no longer necessary to provide our services, or until your account is deleted - whichever comes first. This is a case-by-case determination that depends on things like the nature of the data, why it is collected and processed, and relevant legal or operational retention needs. We remove personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, email or phone number) and other preferences associated with your account.

When you post cases on Endolit, you are allowed to delete it at any time. However, if you post a case in a “University group”, you have access to delete the case within the first 48hrs. After that, the content would belong to the University group you shared the case in. If you delete your account, you can request to delete all your posts on the main forum. We, however, do not delete cases you posted in the groups as they may be part of a University accreditation records. This is considered information that you willingly gave away to your “group director” and only the group director have the authority to delete the content.

After you data is deleted from our website/app, it will be no longer accessible to you or any of Endolit users. A copy of your data will be stored on our servers for one year as part of your records, in case retrieval is required. After that, data will be permanently deleted.
